Under the supervision of Director of Educational Planning and Counseling, the Sr Administrative Assistant - Disability Services shall be responsible for: - Work with college Disability Services Counselors on services provided to hearing impaired students. - Coordinate scheduling of interpreters for classes and college activities. - Submit payroll for interpreters. - Track interpreting costs. - Submit requisitions. - Maintain adaptive technology (CART, JAWS, Kurzweil, Dragon Naturally Speaking and Zoomtext). - Assist with enlarging font sizes for text books, train students on how to use recording devices such as the Livescribe pen, digital recorders, and Victor Reader Streams. Additional Job Functions: - Assist with coordination of office scheduling. - Work cooperatively with counterparts on the other campuses to achieve the College's annual goals and objectives. - Serve on college committees as requested. - Engage in professional development opportunities. - Other duties as assigned. - Must have a High school diploma or GED equivalent. - Must have at least two (2) years' experience in high-traffic office environment, with the ability to perform general office duties including answering telephones, copying, bulk mail outs, and filing. - Must have intermediate "user level" skills in Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Internet research. - Must be self-motivated with excellent communication and public relation skills. - Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Must be able to manage multiple priorities with little supervision. -Must be team-oriented with the ability to work well with other staff and faculty members in the development and administration of programs within the Educational Planning and Counseling Center and throughout the college. - Must have excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills required. - Must be able to facilitate timely, professional communication and problem resolution strategies. - Must be knowledgeable about and be responsive to FERPA law and regulations. - Maintain processes and systems that improve the quality of customer support services. - Must possess outstanding customer service skills and have the ability to work with multiple projects and within deadlines. - Must be available for occasional nights and weekends activities.
