Supports the University Relations division in the technical strategy, design, implementation and maintenance of an online communications and engagement plan as a senior web strategist. Implements and maintains managed web properties to ensure fresh, high-quality content, proper functionality, and consistent service delivery of web and interactive media. Executes production and operations to achieve the strategic, creative, and editorial goals of the University Relations division's web and interactive media plan. Advises and consults with management and other university organizations regarding new media subject matter strategy and implementation. 5+ years of experience in design, development, and implementation of web communications. 5+ years of experience with all aspects of information technology activities including infrastructure operations and support (operating system, networking), database management and development, user application management and development, and user support. Significant hands-on experience in all phases of the development lifecycle with public or commercial user-facing Internet systems. Significant hands-on experience in all phases of the development lifecycle with public or commercial user-facing mobile applications. Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience, preferably in communications or information technology, or the equivalent. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills. Expert knowledge of IT development and design tools, programming languages, and techniques. Expert knowledge of IT operations including system administration, scaling, redundancy, and disaster planning. In-depth knowledge of standards-compliant HTML/XHTML and CSS, XML, web publishing software, web design tools such as Photoshop and/or Illustrator, and content management systems. Knowledge of 508 and ADA compliance. Knowledge of e-mail marketing tools and techniques. Understanding of user-centered design principles. Ability to organize, set priorities, and manage several projects at once with a minimum of supervision. Creative, team-oriented, and client-focused. Deadline driven. Ability to manage vendors and others in implementing projects
