Delaware State University Vacancy Announcement - Research Technician College of Agriculture and Related Sciences Apply online at Applications will be accepted until position is filled THIS IS A 100% GRANT FUNDED POSITION Essential Functions The following are the functions essential to performing this job. Monitor the effects of photoperiod and temperature manipulation on somatic and reproductive growth parameters. Evaluate the effects of temperature and stocking size of juveniles on growth and survival Determine protein: energy requirements of juveniles under different temperature regimes. Implement research project and daily maintenance. Other Functions Individuals in this job may be assigned one or more of the following tasks on a rotating or as-needed basis. 1.   Data collection, analysis and technical writing. 2.  Maintenance of equipment and facilities 3.  Assistance with other research project.   Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The individual in this job must possess these skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Research experience in biology and biotechnology in a college, university, government or industry. Ability to work successfully with diverse students and faculty. Able to perform manual labor and work year-round outside. Some evening, weekend and holiday work may be required. Qualification Standards B.S. Degree in fisheries management, aquaculture, biology or a related field with appropriate course work. Experience with experimental system design, statistical analysis, mechanical repairs and construction is desirable. Valid driver’s license is required. Preferred:  M.S. degree in aquaculture or related field with experience in crustacean reproductive biology.
