PHARMACOLOGY FACULTY: PART-TIME

Responsibilities include: planning and implementing course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline to assure course content and objectives are met; designing, administering and grading examinations; utilizing a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students; actively working to maintain retention of students. The class reviews general principles, theories, and facts about drugs, their administration, classifications, and mechanisms of action, pharmacokinetics, drug interactions, and the adverse effect of drugs used in the prevention and treatment of illnesses. Fall classes begin August 24, 2009 and end December 17, 2009 and meet on Tuesdays 12:00 noon to 2:50 p.m. (time somewhat flexible).

WEB ADMINISTRATOR/PROGRAMMER

The Web Administrator/Programmer works under minimal supervision and is responsible for performing tasks directly related to the support of Web servers, Web-related operating systems, Web-related software applications, Web interfaces to network-based applications, Web application development, and end-user training and problem resolution. Primary duties include maintain existing Web services; create and maintain documentation on new and existing Web services; troubleshoot Web service problems; analyze business processes; create Web systems to increase productivity and solve problems; and assist with Web server hardware and operating systems. Other duties may include work with the Computer HelpDesk to solve problem reports and document solutions; assist with training; perform routine maintenance monitoring and testing of campus Web servers and services; and perform other related duties as required or assigned.

ACCESS SERVICES LIBRARIAN

Primary focus of the Access Services Librarian is to provide vision, direction, and operational management for the planning, development, delivery, and assessment of user services functions. Responsibilities include: coordination of all circulation desk functions; hire, supervise, and schedule staff and student assistants; oversee electronic and print course reserves, interlibrary loans, and bindery operations; and provide excellent customer service. The chosen candidate will serve as liaison librarian for faculty in a specific discipline, and assist with collection development for that discipline. Additional duties include stacks maintenance, statistical reporting, and monitoring the Checkpoint Security System; and perform other related duties as required. Reference desk rotating evening and weekend duties are required.

WEB DESIGNER

Responsible for the design and development of department and campus websites, from conception to execution, and provide technical support as needed. The position requires a strong sense of design, attention to detail, the ability to develop concepts that appeal to a broad range of constituent groups, outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to handle multiple deadline projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will maintain a high level of professionalism; have strong communication skills; be detail-oriented; stay abreast of industry trends and all applicable technologies, new languages, and graphic design tools; and have the technical skills required. Duties include manage and design the college Internet sites; work closely with various departments to develop content and design; maintain repository for college logos, photos, and color palette; create ad hoc print publications and html based e-mail campaigns; manage search engine rankings and link status; track and report web site visitors, trends and customer concerns; develop technical architecture of web sites including scripting, database design, and user interface design; provide support for the development, design, testing, technical documentation, and rollout of new web-based customer services; and perform other duties as required.

DIRECTOR OF DONOR RELATIONS

The Director of Donor Relations will develop, implement, and maintain a sophisticated donor relations/stewardship program for UA Fort Smith. Primary responsibilities include prepare and implement annual major donor relations/stewardship plans and budget; plan, manage, and direct efforts to enhance campus-wide relationships and communication between the university and its donors; develop, implement, and coordinate with appropriate constituencies external and internal donor relations activities; coordinate and facilitate communication and publicity related to donor relations; oversee and improve Endowment Accountability Program; provide quarterly endowment review and reporting; and maintain system of tracking endowment expenditures. Additional duties include serving as scholarship coordinator and liaison for the Foundation; communicating pertinent information related to donors and their gifts to the vice chancellor for university advancement; maintaining and updating Lion Pride Square; overseeing legacy society maintenance, the Bell Tower Society, and the scholarship accountability program; and performing other related duties as required and/or assigned. Some evening and weekend work, as well as travel to professional conferences relating to donor relations is required.

MATHEMATICS FACULTY

Primary responsibilities include teaching Developmental Math, Beginning Algebra, and Intermediate Algebra. Other responsibilities include assessment and evaluation of instruction; curriculum planning and review; student advisement; retention activities; professional/instructional development; participation in team activities; and other university service opportunities. CUSTODIAL WORKER

Standard duties for all custodial positions. Responsibilities include cleaning areas in assigned building(s), including exterior areas surrounding assigned building(s). This will include: clean walls, furniture (student-desks, blackboards, etc.) windows, windowsills, restrooms, trash receptacles; strip wax off floors; re-wax and buff floors as needed; clean and shampoo carpets; and maintain cleaning equipment. Notifies supervisor of maintenance and repairs needed. May secure rooms and/or buildings. Perform other related duties as assigned. Overtime required, including weekend assignments. Job assignment will be second shift, 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 midnight.

RESIDENT LIFE ASSISTANT (RLA)

Resident Life Assistants will assist in the supervision of a residential setting for Upward Bound Bridge Program students. Responsibilities will include active participation in all aspects of the Upward Bound program, including evening activities, meetings, and field trips. Upward Bound RLAs will serve as positive and encouraging role models; assist and participate with the planning of academic and recreational activities; possess and display a positive attitude toward the Upward Bound students; provide support to students in personal, social, and academic areas; enforce Upward Bound program standards and policies; identify the needs of program participants and consult with professional staff; manage health problems and medical emergencies if needed; attend weekly scheduled project activities and any additional field trips; participate and attend staff orientation and meetings, as well as the end of summer banquet; assist with transportation for various events with UA-Fort Smith vehicles; and perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMER ACADEMY ASSISTANT

Summer Academy Assistants will participate in the all aspects of the Upward Bound Summer Academy commuter program, including daytime activities and field trips. Summer Academy Assistants will serve as positive and encouraging role models; assist and participate with the planning and implementation of academic and recreational activities; possess and display a positive attitude toward the Upward Bound students; provide support to commuter students in personal, social, and academic areas; report infractions of Upward Bound program standards and policies; and assist Upward Bound staff in any and all administrative tasks as necessary.

SUMMER GROUNDS WORKERS _(Seasonal)_

Duties encompass all aspects of grounds and landscape maintenance; including push mowing, string trimming (weed eating), edging, power blowing debris, planting, weeding, and picking up trash. Other duties as assigned. Work is performed in various working conditions, including inclement weather.
