RESEARCH NURSE – Pediatrics – Division of Neurology

To assist in the planning, coordination, communication, and management of research activities with the Neonatal Neurology Research program. Major responsibilities include: coordinating phases of studies; participating in study logistics; maintaining study material organization; maintaining and organizing CRF and source documents; identifying and screening participants for studies; obtaining informed consent; taking participant histories; scheduling MR studies; supervising the transport of study participants to and from the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner; ensuring clinical studies are performed according to ethical guidelines and Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (GCP); reporting Adverse Events and Serious Adverse; and performing other related duties.

responsibilities include: updating and maintaining server systems

SENIOR WRITER – Office of the President

To take the lead in producing speeches, presentations and greetings
that articulate the vision of the President and the development
and delivery of communications materials in support of the
University’s fundraising objectives. This is a shared position, .4
FTE with the President’s Office, .6 FTE with the Development
Office. Major responsibilities
include: researching, writing and editing speeches, remarks and
greetings for the President’s speaking engagements; collecting
verbal and written information including abstract concepts and
early ideas from parties; synthesizing and developing speeches that
articulate the vision and ideas of the President; preparing
internal and external written communications such as public letters
and other documents that extend the President’s message on major
initiatives; liaising with staff, faculty, students and external
agencies in the preparation of written materials to ensure accuracy
of content and messaging; developing and delivering complex
proposals and case statements on behalf of UBC in support of
presidential solicitations; managing successful creation of
Development communications; preparing and managing timelines and
work-plans on communication projects, ensuring overlapping
deadlines are met; interacting with key university donors to ensure
accuracy of content and messaging in relevant communications

COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR – Fisheries Centre

To support the achievement of objectives and targets related to
communications in the Project Seahorse strategic plan. Major
responsibilities include: developing and executing a communications
strategy; identifying stories and achievements and determining how
best to share these stories; planning,

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS ADVISOR – Human Resources

To participate in the development of strategies and policies
affecting staff at the University. Major responsibilities include:
preparing research and other materials for collective bargaining
and in support of Employee Relations Managers; assisting counsel at
arbitration and other hearings; researching case law, past
practice, assesses impacts/exposures and identifying solutions;
preparing cases by developing strategies, preparing/interviewing
witnesses and writing documents; negotiating with union
representatives to resolve disputes prior to formal hearings where
possible; drafting and signing Letters of Understanding in
settlement of issues; interpreting and administering collective
agreements and other agreements governing conditions of employment
of support staff; representing Human Resources in Step 3 grievance
meetings; providing consultation and advice to HR Advisors,
Associates, Assistants and client departments on all matters
relating to labour relations management; providing interpretation
on more complex labour relation issues; developing effective
working relationships with various union representatives; providing
back-up to Employee Relations Managers in their absence; and

To plan, develop, assess and deliver blended certificate programs
at the Centre for Intercultural Communication (CIC). Major
responsibilities include: identifying learning gaps and
educational priorities; determining suitable interactive tools to

PROJECT COORDINATOR – Audiology & Speech Sciences

To work as part of a team to develop, implement and evaluate a
graduate-level course on “Approaches to Speech-language Pathology
and Audiology for Aboriginal People”. Major responsibilities
include: assisting in evaluating the course through running focus
groups, conducting phone interviews, and collating responses;
recruiting Aboriginal consultants and guests for the course;
working with Aboriginal communities (local and rural) to create
learning experiences for graduate students in speech-language
pathology and audiology; coordinating the development of a DVD
project that outlines approaches to speech-language pathology and
audiology for Aboriginal people; recruiting actors; assisting with
preparing scripts; supervising staff for the DVD project; attending
