UNIQUE JOB – Enrolment Services

To provide information, guidance and direction to prospective
students, current students and the general public regarding
recruitment, admission, student records and registration and all
other supporting functions. Duties include: interpreting and
accurately communicating written policies; reconciling records and
identifying discrepancies; responding to oral and written enquiries
of an interpretive nature; referring complex enquiries
appropriately; assisting students in making application for ACCESS
Studies; providing guidance and monitoring students; mapping
current processes; redesigning processes using input from
colleagues and other student service units; acting as liaison with
external agencies; making recommendations for change to UBC
policies and procedures; analyzing and completing certificates of
enrollment for RESPs and other external agencies; giving direction
to students regarding Reviews of Assigned Standing; forwarding and

UNIQUE JOB (GR6) – Housing & Conferences

To supervise the daily operation of Conferences and Accommodation
services. Duties include: checking in and out guests including
verifying information and collecting payment of
room and miscellaneous charges; balancing cash and
receipts; providing change for floats; training
Customer Service Representatives and monitoring performance;
addressing guest complaints, consulting with and forwarding on any
extraordinary problems to management; initiating Standard
University Emergency Procedures when necessary and promoting guest
safety and satisfaction; assisting guests; providing information
concerning conferences, public services and tourism to guests;
handling and maintaining control of keys; reporting and recording
daily maintenance requirements in order to maintain quality and
appearance of facilities; monitoring and completing daily
communication by maintaining log books, writing memos and

PUBLIC SERVICES LIBRARY ASSISTANT 1 – Library (Asian)

To perform routine preparation of materials for binding and assists
with circulation services, stack maintenance and library processing
in the Asian Library. Duties include: gathering titles and issues;
checking on-line records for missing issues; preparing materials
for binding by collating, tattletaping, stamping and labelling;
meeting binding quotas and deadlines; maintaining bindery records;
charging and discharging materials; renewing materials, placing
holds, recalls and trace requests; accepting and processing
payments; responding to directional, information and queries on

To provide human resource and accounting support. To assist in conducting and developing an expanding program in clinical trials with the Clinical Research Unit of the Centre for Clinical Epidemiology and Evaluation. Major responsibilities include: assisting in developing study protocol and study design; writing grant proposals; identifying and recruiting subjects; overseeing organization of and participating in initiation of clinical study, study conduct, ongoing training and correspondence of amendments to study design; acting as liaison and coordinating clinical trials with pharmaceutical representatives; implementing study protocols; writing, developing and submitting ethics application; managing budget and payments from clinical trial accounts; carrying out nursing functions including administration of medications, venipuncture, and conducting test of specific treatments; making observations and assessing subjects including taking vital signs, performing physical exams, taking medical history, and vaccinating subjects; preparing reports and presenting findings; and performing other related duties.
