Description:
The Management Services Officer serves as the Business and Administrative Manager to the Director of the Sierra Nevada Research Institute (SNRI). These activities will take place starting June 15, 2009 through July 24, 2009 at California State University, Fresno.

2. Scope of Service: Learning Assistant agrees to provide:
Upward Bound learning assistants will serve as leaders, advisors, educators, and role models to forty-six incoming 10th, 11th and 12th grade Upward Bound participants attending an intensive six-week summer residential program at Fresno Pacific University with their services starting June 14, 2009 through July 31, 2009. Under the supervision and guidance of the Upward Bound Project Director the Summer Residential Learning Assistants will be responsible for the following:
Under direct supervision of the Summer Academy Teachers, learning assistants will participate in all aspects of the Upward Bound Summer Residential Academy academic enrichment activities. Learning Assistants will be responsible for:
• Provide Academic Advising to students individually or in small groups;
• Determine from student notes and discussions the concepts that need to be reviewed;
• Assist teachers in conducting all sessions associated with the Summer Academy;
• Guide student Math, English, Science, Foreign Language, and Social Cultural Studies workshop session groups;
• Assist teachers in evaluation of student Summer Academy binders, notes and assignment sheets;
• Assist teachers during Math, English, Science, Foreign Language,and Social Cultural Studies workshop debriefing sessions;
• Become familiar with all materials and technology tools used by the Summer Academy students;
• Assist in developing a resource file of enrichment materials for use in academic enrichment sessions; and

SLIB2220A: Technology Services Coordinator

Description:
The Access Services Unit is the primary customer service unit of the Library. Access Services operations include the following services: information delivery customer service, document delivery services, supplemental course resources, and loaner laptops. The Access Services unit is highly integrated for efficiency and to maintain excellent service to Library customers. Career staff in the Access Services Unit receive cross-training and are able to assist in all areas of unit operations.

Under direction, the Technology Services Coordinator (TSC) manages the Supplemental Course Resources program and the Loaner Laptop program. The TSC provides hardware and software support for the library including staff computers, specialized input devices such as scanners, library servers, public workstations, and the loaner laptops. The TSC advises Library management on design, development, analysis, maintenance, and documentation of customized computer applications. The TSC supervises 2-3 FTE student employees (6-8 student employees) performing technology services support activities.

The TSC is independently responsible for initial troubleshooting and diagnosis of problems with computers in the library. In most instances, the systems are either repaired by the TSC or appropriate maintenance recommendations are made based upon warranties, vendor protocols, and other relevant factors. The TSC is the sole administrator for Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP (LAMP) servers and supports Oracle, Luna, and the Sun servers’ maintenance and administration.

The TSC independently advises and trains staff users in the utilization of software packages, installation and testing of software packages, advises professional staff on hardware and software acquisitions, designs databases utilizing open source software and operating systems, and provides coding as needed to implement projects undertaken by the librarians.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

• Public Service experience in a library setting.
• Knowledge of basic library systems and procedures.
• Demonstrated administrative experience and knowledge of standard office practices.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, and complete assignments independently as well as work in a team environment.
