Description:
UC Merced Center for Educational Partnerships Upward Bound Program will provide a comfortable, convenient, and engaging residential experience for Upward Bound 10th and 11th grade high school students attending the Upward Bound Summer Residential Program at the California State University, Fresno. The Residence Assistant (RA) supports this mission by facilitating opportunities to engage Upward Bound Summer Residential participants in the creation of living-learning communities.

Under the general supervision of the Interim Director, the RA is responsible for facilitating various aspects of student life in the residence community. The RA plays an important role in developing inclusive and interactive communities through programming and activity implementation; serving as a mentor, counselor, and referral agent; establishing and enforcing behavioral standards; facilitating communication; and participates in an on-call duty rotation for emergency response. The RA works cooperatively with their staff team and other campus departments to create an enriching experience in support of our participants’ academic goals and seamless transition to University life. RA’s are required to live on campus and will be compensated with a dorm, meals, and salary.

Qualifications:
*Must be current college student or recent graduate.
*Must be willing to work some nights and weekends, alter work schedules as needed, possess a valid CA driver’s liscense to operate University vehicles, and successfully pass a background check.
