Description:
Post-doctoral position available to study the aerodynamics of flapping wings at low Reynolds (1 < Re < 200) and high Strouhal (Sl > 10) numbers through a combination of computational (CFD) and experimental (PIV/Stereophotography) techniques.
Minimum qualifications: PhD in Mechanical and/or Aerospace Engineering with expertise on CFD of aeroelastic elements.
Desired qualifications: Research expertise on geometrical optimization, aerodynamics and unsteady viscous flows. Interest in laser-based experimental methods in fluid mechanics. Ability to work in group and mentor undergraduate students.
