Multi-Cultural Recruitment Admission Counselor – Admission

Gustavus Adolphus College seeks an admission counselor to join a seasoned professional staff. As a member of the admission team, the counselor will assist in the recruitment and selection of new students (first-year and transfer) for the college. The counselor will represent the college at high school visits, college fairs, special programs and individual meetings with students and their families. The counselor will play a leadership role in developing, nurturing and maintaining contacts with diverse communities in greater Minnesota, the metropolitan areas and selected national areas. The person will also be responsible for developing campus visit programs and special visit days. The counselor will work closely with the other counselors in encouraging the recruitment of diverse students from individual territories. Candidates from under-represented populations are encouraged to apply.



Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree, excellent verbal and writing skills, high energy, an appreciation for liberal arts education and a genuine interest in working with diverse populations. Fluency in a second language (Hmong or Spanish) is highly desirable. Applicants must have a positive and optimistic attitude, be dedicated, good humored and willing to work beyond an 8:00 to 5:00 work schedule to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Some admission or related experience is recommended.
