RESEARCH NURSE – Centre for Clinical Epidemiology and Evaluation

To assist in conducting and developing an expanding program in clinical trials with the Clinical Research Unit of the Centre for Clinical Epidemiology and Evaluation. Major responsibilities include: assisting in developing study protocol and study design; writing grant proposals; identifying and recruiting subjects; overseeing organization of and participating in initiation of clinical study, study conduct, ongoing training and correspondence of amendments to study design; acting as liaison and coordinating clinical trials with pharmaceutical representatives; implementing study protocols; writing, developing and submitting ethics application; managing budget and payments from clinical trial accounts; carrying out nursing functions including administration of medications, venipuncture, and conducting test of specific treatments; making observations and assessing subjects including taking vital signs, performing physical exams, taking medical history, and vaccinating subjects; preparing reports and presenting findings; and performing other related duties.
