Position will assist in the managing and supervising of spaces in the South campus Fine Arts Center; Train student Stage Managers for all SJCS Department of Theatre productions, as well as Dance and Music performances; Assist in the Department Recruitment Program; Supervise all technical aspects of lighting, sound and construction for all Fine Arts Center rental events. This will include lighting, sound, rigging, video, and system operations. This position works closely with faculty, staff, and students and will be expected to train in a non-traditional setting outside of the classroom. The candidate will schedule external groups for facilities usage, propose budget requests, and assist with the procurement of supplies and equipment for the facilities. Additional responsibilities include advising the Visual and Performing Arts Department on status of facilities and need for renovations or upgrading, and compliance with OSHA regulations, Supervision of part-time employees, as well as other duties as assigned, will also be required. This candidate will work 40 hours per week and must be able to work weekends and evenings as needed. Bachelor's degree in technical theater or a related discipline, plus two (2) years experience in a position requiring technical theater expertise OR an Associate's degree plus three (3) years experience in a technical theater and/or theatre management. Time management skills, customer relation skills, advanced knowledge of lighting equipment and design, advanced knowledge of audio engineering, and general rigging knowledge.
