Electrical Journeyman

Accurately diagnose electrical problems and remove, repair and replace faulty components in the most cost effective and timely method possible. - Complete and account for all work orders in the priority directed by the supervisor. - Provide support services, maintain and operate facilities and systems that enhance student's interest in San Jacinto College, student retention and student success. - Be willing and available from time to time for emergency after hour repair or to complete ongoing projects. - Be willing to respond to calls anytime during a 24-hour period. Accomplish other duties as assigned. - Obey all department safety regulations - Other duties as assigned. - Must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent. - Must have a current journeyman license for the City of Houston or Pasadena (or commit to obtaining one within the first year of employment). - Must have the ability and willingness to assist and work with other related trades (plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and construction). - Must be willing to accept assignment to any of the three campus locations belonging to the college. - Must have a current/valid Texas driver's license (or other state issued driver's license) and a good driving record. - Must be able to lift heavy packages (up to 50 lbs.). - Must be a self-starter and able to work with a minimal supervision.
