Director of Parent Programs

The Director of Parent Programs provides leadership of a strategic and comprehensive philanthropy program for the Creighton University parent community. Responsibilities include major gift cultivation and solicitation, stewardship, Creighton fund giving, communications strategy and management of volunteers associated with the Parents' Council. The Director will partner effectively with Admissions, Student Life, Alumni Relations and Development staff to increase opportunities for engagement and to support programming and communication initiatives for parents of current, prospective, and former students. The Director will carry his/her own portfolio of Parent prospects. Bachelor's degree required. Minimum 5-7 years experience of demonstrated, successful major gift fundraising. Demonstrated knowledge of development/fundraising concepts and appropriate solicitation techniques. Demonstrated success in cultivation and personal solicitation activities. Significant personnel and program management experience required. Volunteer management and experience working with councils and boards preferred. Experience in higher education and a national campaign environment preferred. Appreciation and understanding of Creighton University's mission and the ability to effectively communicate it. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with Advance or comparable fund-raising database. Ability to think strategically and quickly summarize complex and detailed information. Ability to travel nationally to visit Parent prospects and attend events.
