Desktop Engineer

Provides analytical and technical work in research, capacity planning, testing and deployment of desktop/laptop hardware and software configurations to ensure successful integration with the university network, systems infrastructure and PC/Mac client platforms. Establishes policies and procedures to support the packaging/imaging, deployment and recovery of the PC/Mac operating system and software applications. Administers the change management process for ongoing updates to university PC/Mac configurations. Provides second level support to service desk(s) and distributed service professionals. Assists clients in the use of hardware and software. Applicant must be a customer-focused person who is self-motivated, friendly and has a passion to improve Creighton's computing environments. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required 3-4 years' related experience Interpersonal/human relations skills Must possess strong written and oral communication skills and expert level telephone etiquette; expertise in computer hardware and software which includes Windows/Macintosh operating systems and handheld devices which includes Macintosh/android/BlackBerry/Windows. High degree of accountability to accept highly visible responsibilities and take ownership of issues. Must be comfortable working in fast paced, high volume environments. Ability to mentor and coach peers and co-workers with technical solutions
