CONTROLS TECHNICIAN I - This position is responsible for analysis, repair, maintenance and operational management of the campus HVAC systems and associated BAS (Building Automation System) and controls systems. Equipment responsibilities include DX and hydronic systems and components, fans and fan motors, pumps and pump motors, electric and pneumatic controls and associated safety, overcurrent and other equipment protection devices. This is normally a first shift, weekday position, but may require occasional shift work. CONTROLS TECHNICIAN II - This position is responsible for analysis, installation, repair, maintenance and operational management of the campus HVAC systems and associated BAS (Building Automation System) and controls systems. Equipment responsibilities include DX and hydronic systems and components, fans and fan motors, pumps and pump motors, electric and pneumatic controls and associated safety, overcurrent and other equipment protection devices. This is normally a first shift, weekday position, but may require occasional shift work. CONTROLS TECHNICIAN I Minimum Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent with strong math and shop background. 2. Ability to understand oral and written instructions and procedures. 3. Two-year technical degree or equivalent training in HVAC systems or electronics discipline OR four years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of commercial/institutional HVAC systems and associated controls. 4. Knowledge of electrical systems. 5. Familiarity with industry standard safety procedures related to the operation of mechanical and electrical equipment, use of tools and equipment, personal protective equipment, etc. 6 A valid driver's license. 7. Ability to work independently and as a team member; take initiative; use good judgment; and communicate effectively. 8. Knowledge of and ability to use computer programs. 9. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required, including overtime, and respond to calls outside normal business hours. CONTROLS TECHNICIAN II Minimum Qualifications: 1. Two-year technical degree or equivalent training in HVAC or electronics discipline and four years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems and associated controls OR eight years of hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of commercial/institutional HVAC systems and associated controls. 4. Knowledge of electrical systems. 5. Familiarity with industry standard safety procedures related to the operation of mechanical and electrical equipment, use of tools and equipment, personal protective equipment, etc. 6 A valid driver's license. 7. CONTROLS TECHNICIAN I/II Other: A post offer criminal background and driving record check, drug screening and physical will be conducted.
