Business Analyst

The Business Analyst works with University Relations staff and Advance users to understand business needs and how the database and correlated systems can be utilized to support their needs. Candidate will gather and synthesize reporting and business process requirements, and work with peers within Advancement Services and/or the Information Technology programming staff to implement practical solutions to identified and prioritized business needs. The position requires an in-depth understanding of the strategic business of fundraising and also a clear understanding of how fundraising fits into the university's budgeting, operational, and strategic goals within and across fiscal years. The ability to work collaboratively in designing, communicating and enforcing standardized business processes, with regard to managing the data flow into and out of the Advance database, will be essential. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or a related field of study) or equivalent work experience Two plus (2+) years of business analysis experience, with fluency in standard BA practices Excellent customer service, analytical and project management skills Expertise with relational databases; expertly skilled in quality assurance, data analysis, SQL programming, and the Microsoft Office suite Experience writing business use cases and requirements, with the ability to translate needs and requirements between technical and non-technical staff
