Maintain scheduled class and office hours; Maintain neat and accurate records; Create lesson plans for each day's activities; Assist with syllabi review and revisions due April 1st of each year; Provide necessary assistance and input in completing departmental forms and schedules; Turn forms in on time which includes 12th day class rolls, office schedules, payroll, travel requests and displays; Responsible for student recruitment, tracking of student progress, and student advising and retention; Participate in class scheduling; Responsible for class building which includes new recruits and students in process; Prepare and administer advanced standing examinations; Maintain high ethical standards as indicated by department and college guidelines; Assist in budget planning and payroll process; Attend and participate in departmental meetings; Attend required and assigned training; Maintain Master ASE and L1 certifications; Participate in recruiting events which include High School district 8 Skills USA contest, State Skills USA contest, Houston New Car Show Recruiting Booth, HADA Day at the Races, AYES Parent Nights, AYES B&E meetings, Career Days and Nights and College Start Trek program; Maintain vehicle fleet keeping vehicles clean and operational; Maintain vehicle inventory and assist with re-donation process; Use training vehicles for training skill sets; Follow NATEF and Manufacture standards; Maintain manufacture reports; Work with other instructors to schedule lab times as needed; Maintain labs and classroom before end of each class; Keep administrative assistant informed of all absences; Be available to substitute as needed; Responsible for graduation banquets which include working with administrative assistant to set-up banquets; Assist Department Chair upon request; Project a positive image and promote the interest of the college at all times; Assist in maintaining security for college vehicles, equipment, and supplies; Assist in inventory control and ordering supplies; Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment; Perform other duties as assigned. - Must have an associate degree (or higher level degree). - Must have at least three (3) years of full-time related work experience in Automotive Technology exclusive of teaching experience. - Must have Honda Automotive Manufacturer Master certifications. - Must have Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification in all eight (8) areas and ASE L1 Advanced Engine Performance. NOTE: Faculty must maintain Master and L1 ASE Certification.
