Associate Dean – SOM Planning and Business Affairs

The Associate Dean for Planning and Business Affairs will be responsible for all strategic planning related to developing a new academic medical center (AMC) with Alegent Creighton Health and for providing administrative management of all academic support for clinical departments within the School of Medicine to maintain exceptional clinical training programs and exceed the accreditation standards of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) and the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education. Under the direction of the Senior Associate Dean for Administration and Finance, the incumbent will serve as the project lead for the transition of all School of Medicine academic training programs and clinical training facilities from the current site to the new Bergan Mercy site and will also oversee the planning effort to establish a new ambulatory medical center near the current site. Provide direct support to the Clinical Department Chairs to ensure that clinical-affiliated faculty members can fulfill their academic and clinical teaching responsibilities. This position also serves as the primary administrative liaison with external clinical affiliates to arrange for faculty teaching support from clinical-affiliated faculty members, maintaining external relationships with affiliate medical institutions and health systems by developing formal affiliation agreements for clinical training programs. Ensuring appropriate reimbursement for training support expenses with external affiliations. In addition, this position serves as the administrative liaison with Alegent Creighton Health for matters related to medical student clinical education and training. Master's degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or related field is required along with senior level experience in academic medicine clinical management, strong knowledge of LCME accreditation requirements and ACGME physician specialty training program requirements. Ability to build effective working relationships with key executives of affiliated health systems including Alegent Creighton Health, Omaha Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Omaha Children's Hospital and Medical Center. Experience in strategic planning and project management Experience in managing financial resources in large academic and health care organizations. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Special Training in the following preferred: Microsoft Office; New Innovations, LCME, AAMC survey requirements. The candidate must have excellent communication, multi-tasking, organization and critical thinking skills and aspire to be a consummate professional.
