Assistant Professor – Journalism, Media & Computing

The successful applicant is expected to teach courses in the Journalism major including social media, writing, introduction to mass communication technology and possibly other courses in news, public relations and/or advertising. We seek applicants interested in developing courses in such fields as content marketing and analytics and willing to constantly adapt to the changing needs of this dynamic field in a department that emphasizes innovation. The ideal applicant will desire to be an outstanding teacher-scholar within a primarily undergraduate environment. The successful applicant will be encourage to serve on departmental, college and university committees. Assistant Professors are encouraged to pursue an active research agenda and to work collaboratively with undergraduate students in student media or co-surricular organizations. This position is for Academic Year 2014-15. Terminal degree required or anticipated within the academic year of hiring, three years of professional media experience and some teaching experience required.
